Fitness Journal - Workout 1

I am finally on a very good routine! I teach from 8-8:50 then again from 10-10:50/11:15 depending on the day, so I have a nice hour in-between where I can work-out. I teamed up with my sister-in-law Jenn (who works as a personal trainer/yoga instructor) who is creating workouts for me (since I can no longer go to pilates and yoga class). I will post those workouts on my blog with pictures of the moves. If you want a more personal workout plan, contact Jenn directly through email (jawoolstenhulme@gmail.com) and she'll be more than happy to meet with you and set you up on a plan that works best for you and your body!

Workout 1- repeat entire routine 3 times
  • Boat Modified: balance on bum, legs out, arms out, keep torso same then bend and straighten legs (heels together for more intensity) - 15x

  • Bounded Angle Abs: lay on back, bring legs up, soles of feet together, bring hands between legs; pulse arms - 30x

  • Laying Crunches: lay all the way on floor, bring hands behind head, crunch up then twist to the right, then back to center, then down and switch sides - 30x (15 each side)
clockwise

  • Side Bridge Bicycle: With the leg up straighten front with pointed foot, bend through to flex foot, bring all the way around to point, GO SLOW, tuck to natural spine - 30x (15 each side)
clockwise (excuse the one blurry picture)

  • Trainers Plank Modified: on elbows straight right arm, left arm, then right elbow down, left elbow down. Tuck tummy, support back - 15x
clockwise

  • Trainer Plank with Legs: on elbow lift right leg (point) then down (flex), lift left leg then down - 20x (10 each side)

  • Bridge: lay on back and bend legs, push up, squeeze glutes and inflate (push out) stomach, slowly come up then down ((modified: brings arms over your head - it gets your heart rate up)) - 20x

Dallas - goodbye

Sunday:
My last day in Dallas was hard, I so badly didn't want to go back to real life. We spent the day just relaxing and being with each other. Taylor took me on a picnic to White Rock Lake where we ate famous Schlotzsky's sandwiches. It was super hot, over 100 degrees, but that didn't matter because I had one surprise left - TANDEM biking! I've always wanted to go and never have... we thought we'd take a stroll around the lake. Over an hour later (+ heat stroke + dehydration) we realized the lake was about 9 miles around. It was a long but FUN bike ride. It was so worth it, I definitely got my biking workout in for the next month. From this experience we decided we like picnics and want to start biking together more (maybe we'll invest in a tandem bike) and I learned I never want to live in the Dallas heat. We were running late to the airport (we didn't expect our ride to take so long + we had to load up the bike and cool off + we had to stop on the way and grab 3 huge Gatorade's (we downed 2 of them in about 10 minutes)) but my flight was delayed just enough so that I was able to make it on time to board. It was so hard to say good-bye, I think the only thing that made it manageable was that we were rushed.

this nice old couple saw us taking individual pictures and stopped their car to ask if we'd like them to take one of us both!
On Me:
Shirt: J.Crew; Short: Urban Outfitters; Hat: Target; Glasses: Gap; Watch: Timex; Shoes: Sperry's
On Him:
Shirt: Gap; Shorts: Target; Watch: Timex; Shoes: Sperry's

It was such a perfect trip thanks to Taylor who planned everything and who is the best company in the world!
Now only a month until he is back in Utah

Dallas - Saturday, day 3

Saturday:
When we got in the car Taylor handed me a Texas Rangers baseball hat, we were going to a baseball game! I was super excited (minus the 100 degree weather that I was afraid I would fry and die in), because baseball is BIG in the Woolstenhulme family. We arrived a little bit early so to avoid the heat, we had the A/C blowing and chilled for awhile. People tailgate in the heat...we chill in the A/C. It works nicely. We finally decided to face the heat and headed to the game. LUCKILY our seats were in the shade and there was even a slight breeze. It wasn't bad at all! The game was pretty slow for the first few innings. We shared a hot dog and a frozen lemonade before heading out a little early to get to our next event.

Look how handsome he is! He was stuck in the back seat - so I took a picture!

On Me:
Shirt: J.Crew; Shorts: Abercrombie (super old - I don't buy shorts on a regular basis so I had to find my old pairs since I'd be out and about in 100+ degree weather); Earrings: Francesca's; Shoes: Sperry's; Watch: Timex
On Him:
Shirt and Shorts: Target; Watch: Timex; Shoes: Sperry's

--------

We then headed from Arlington to Fort Worth to have dinner at this awesome Mexican place with trees, plants, and flowers everywhere! It was beautiful and the food was yummy.

On Me:
Dress: Anthropologie (I brought back this dress from 2007); Earrings: Nordstrom; Watch: Michael Kors

On Him:
Shirt: Kohl's; Pants: J.Crew

--------

After we decided since we were in Texas, we should hit up a rodeo! There was bull riding, bucking horses (one cowboy even got bucked off over the railing), and much more. It was definitely something I haven't done before and it was so much fun.

On Me:
Shirt and Earrings: J.Crew; Shorts: Forever 21; Cowboy boots (not pictured)
On Him:
Shirt: Nordstrom; Jeans: Gap; Watch: Timex

(yes we had 3 outfits....3 different activities call for 3 different outfits - that's what you get when you have a couple who like fashion and clothes! haha - since the activities were surprises Taylor told me what type of clothes to wear "outdoor - shorts," "indoor," "western" etc. so I was dressed appropriately)

It was such a fun busy day - the GPS failed us on the way home (Dallas construction = exits on GPS that don't exist = U-turns...forever!) But Taylor used his navigational skills to figure it out and we finally made it! That completed day 3, it started to get sad...only 1 day left with Taylor.

Dallas - day 1 and 2

Taylor is the best person in the WHOLE entire universe.
He really is PERFECT.
Weeks of planning went into this trip on his part and I am so grateful.
Everything was a surprise.
An amazing weekend of perfection.

Thursday:
My flight was late, so Taylor was waiting for me at the baggage claim when I arrived in Dallas. I was on the phone with him when I saw him and I had to hold myself back from dropping my suitcase and just running into his arms. I thought I knew how much I missed him - but I really had no idea until I was actually with him again. He took me to this AMAZING Mexican restaurant, Pappasito's, where we had table-side guacamole, mango/strawberry lemonade, and Fillet Mignon fajitas.

On Me:
Dress, Bag, Earrings: J.Crew
Shoes: Halogen via Nordstrom
Watch: Michael Kors
Necklace: Ily Couture

On Him: (work/internship clothes)
Shirt, Pants: Khol's
Tie: Ross

Friday:
Taylor took me shopping. We went to the NorthPark mall where I coveted over many expensive items... then purchased a few things as well (from Anthropologie). We had lunch at a wonderful Italian restaurant Maggiano's (seriously amazing!) then stopped at Cold Stone for dessert (mint ice cream with cookie dough and oreo). Our 40 minute drive back to where I was staying took us about 2 hours with Dallas traffic...

He knows me so well! - he highlighted where J.Crew was

crazy traffic

 On Me:
Cardigan, Earrings: Banana Republic
Skirt: Forever 21
Shirt: J.Crew (I added the ruffles)
Watch, Bracelets: Michael Kors, J.Crew, Nordstrom
Purse: J.Crew
Sunglasses: Gap
Shoes: Sperry's

On Him:
Shirt, Pants: J.Crew
Shoes: Sperry's

...then we were off to my big surprise (that I accidentally found out about)

THE GAVIN DeGRAW CONCERT!
In Oklahoma at the Winstar Casino

(It was fun: a) because I was with Taylor, b) because it was Gavin's concert and he is UNREAL live, c) because it was in my home state (yes, I was born in Oklahoma), d) because somehow the concert crossed paths with the weekend I was going to be in Dallas and the location was only an hour and a half away. Basically it was perfect, and e) because Colbie Caillat preformed too and she was VERY good live (way better than on her album), I was pleasantly surprised.)

My signed Gavin DeGraw shirt from summer 2008

Saturday and Sunday to come!

J.Crew

I used to LOVE getting the J.Crew catalogs... now they just depress me. THEY ARE SO GOOD!! I want EVERYTHING - and I can't. And it makes me sad. I want to look at it over and over again, but I have to stop myself because then I literally will jump online and order the ENTIRE catalog. Thank you J.Crew for being so amazing (but for also ruining my bank account).

No one was around for pictures...So this is all I have
