I am not excited that...
Taylor will be gone for 3 months
May, June, July
in Dallas, for an internship
(oddly, a 2 year mission seemed easier, don't quite understand)
though there is only one thing on the "not excited" side, it sure makes summer look not so appealing...
it means I miss
cuddling
watching movies (I'm not a 'watch by myself' type of girl)
talking in person to my best friend, about EVERYTHING
seeing him every single day (which is how it has pretty much been since he got home almost a year ago)
ya..doing good things without your best friend never feels quite as good
((but I am so excited for him, it is an amazing opportunity, and I am so proud of his hard work and dedication. I'll just miss him is all.))
Even so,
only 3 weeks until Summer vacation begins
yay
I'm adding all (or most) of these things to my list too!
(Talyn the Sonic happy hour is for you!)

note to self (and all other college students):
FOCUS BREE (or insert name)!!! you can do it, only three more weeks.

celebration
I just did a little happy dance in the library.
Only 2 and a half weeks of classes left
11 days for me (no classes on Friday)
and only 17 more classes total (31 counting my Jazz classes that I teach)
(I literally feel like it was just barely Fall finals..this semester FLEW)
And on top of that I only have my regular reading and assignments due
+ two (easy) papers and a huge group presentation (MCOM)
Not too bad!
(And FINALLY, for the first time this semester my hard work and studying paid off, I actually received a grade that showed my effort (although I will say that a few of the points were definitely given by luck/inspiration) .... 88.6% on my Financial Management test (BUS M 301)) - best test score all semester.
P.S. I am loving my new blog design.
It needed an update.
I love that the space is wider (= bigger pictures)
and it is more streamline, clean, classy, and ME!

lazy day
It was a long hard past couple of weeks.
Today, I am lazy. I haven't checked my homework list, I have done nothing productive. and it is exactly what I need. I haven't felt too good these past few days and I was so overwhelmed and stressed, I think my body is asking me for a break.
So for one day, that is exactly what it is going to get. Since it hasn't had one in a very long time.
-----
I did get to see Hunger Games yesterday with my family and Taylor. It was awesome, even though I felt miserable the whole time and couldn't watch it as intently as I would have wanted. Makes me want to read the books again.
We also watched Hook this weekend, makes me want to pull out all the old favorites, Mrs. Doubtfire, Little Rascals, etc.
In other news, Gavin DeGraw is on Dancing with the Stars, he is so cute!
and for your viewing pleasure, his newest music video, one of my favorite songs, Not Over You. (Warning: there are 3 minor swear words and the girl is not always appropriately dressed...)

oops...
SO.. somehow I messed something up with my blog.. It reverted back to some weird ugly background and since I don't have time to play around with it today... I uploaded a temporary picture and am just leaving it be. My sidebar is gone but blogger isn't cooperating and I just don't have time to figure it out. I'll work on my, I guess, new blog design after the semester ends.
I'm jealous of..
1) Everyone who is seeing Hunger Games tonight, or tomorrow. Tay and I decided to save some money and wait a few weeks so we can use discount tickets. So I will not be seeing it.. probably until after finals. I still haven't seen The Vow either...
and
2) People who get to sleep more than 5-6 hours a night
I just need to make it through Saturday, then the two weeks of doom will be over with.. hopefully. 3 weeks til finals. 4 weeks til the semester is OVER. So.. I actually don't see it getting any easier. Word to the wise... Don't try to be a full time student taking super tough classes (Econ, Finance, Advanced Writing) and working 17-20 hours a week. It's no bueno.
On a happier note.
SY IS IN PERU!!!! He flew out on Tuesday from the Provo MTC to the Peru MTC. We got to talk to him for a little bit in the airport and he is doing amazing. He even handed out his first Book of Mormon. He says Peru looks like the Garden of Eden!
and Jenn and Seth started a business and have a new blog, check them out and look for them this summer at Utah fairs selling chocolate covered fruit and fresh lemonade!! Berrilicous.blogspot.com.
My grateful thought for the day.
Today I am scheduled to take midterm 3 for Art History and I was stressing out because I literally did not have enough hours in the day to study adequately for this test along with the other projects and exams I have this week. BUT lucky for me my teacher is a miracle worker and DROPS ONE OF THE THREE MIDTERMS. Then, I was worried if I miss learning all this material that it would catch up with me on the final exam but I asked my teacher and THE FINAL IS NOT COMPREHENSIVE!!!!!!! Happiest day of my life. So, I do not have to study or take the time to take this midterm, I simply get a 0, it drops and my other two midterms are counted (both 92%-so I feel pretty good about it.) and I don't have to re-learn the material later. THANK YOU ARTHC 201! You literally saved my life.
Now if only my MCOM class would drop the oral presentation I have to give tonight....

the exciting (or not so exciting) life of Bree
The highlights (or low-lights)
Monday: Econ exam. You know that it sucks when the class average is 63%... yuck.
Tuesday: Ate Arby's for lunch instead of the regular Taco Bell.
Wednesday: Found out I had a research report due... on Thursday. awesome.
Thursday: Fell down the stairs. I rock. I know. haha. Developed some MAJOR bruises which altered my walking for a few days.. still recovering. I have magic cream so they are now at the beautiful yellow stage. Healing fast but still tender and painful.
And stayed up until 1:30 AM with my lovely seamstress (AKA best mother on the planet) finishing Maddie's prom dress. ((Maddie told me what she wanted, I patterned and fit her, my amazing mommy sewed it up since I was swamped with school work. Turned out gorgeous!!))
Friday: One hour massage. Heavenly. Gandolfo's chocolate cake. Heavenly. Hanging out in the library with Taylor. Heavenly. Homework. (Econ=not so heavenly). Frozen Pizza and Chocolate Milk. Pretty darn heavenly. Movie. (we picked a strange one, I don't even remember the name... I fell asleep so..). Sleeping. Heavenly.
Saturday: Breakfast with Emily. Work 10-3:30, then library til 9 PM. And another strange movie, Taylor had to watch it for extra credit. Another Earth. It's weird, I don't really recommend it.
Sunday: Church. (+ Hershey's chocolate and almond bar, thanks Shay, blessings come from Visiting Teaching! and the message this week is really good. Read it.).Blessings come from Sacrifice. Moroni 10. Choose holiness. Hold regular personal worship. We are goddesses in embryo. The Lord will qualify you when you do His will. Our personal coach is the Holy Ghost. Lift where you are. Ask: "Am I becoming casual in my relationship with my Heavenly Father?" Allow Jesus Christ to be your Savior, allow Heavenly Father to be your Father. WARNING: 3 Nephi 18: 18. Claim your blessings.
Next week's agenda:
-Choreograph 131's lyrical dance
-Econ assignment (100 pages of reading + problems)
-MCOM (business writing) research report finalized
-MCOM Oral presentation to go along with report
-Art History Exam
-BUS M (finance) Exam
= NO BUENO
*** Sorry friends who I do not contact anymore.. I still love you. I am just completely overwhelmed and do not have time to even breath.
Besides all the overwhelming schoolwork, life is good. Happy Sunday everyone.

Happy PI(e) Day!!!
YAY!
Dear Mom,If you are reading this while I'm at school (from 7:30am-10:00pm), and feel so inclined to put together a yummy banana cream pie (or really, any pie will do (the one below looks mighty tasty) - they are all my favorite - I LOVE PIE) I will repay you with something awesome (like a sweet potato cazookie from The Chocolate that we still have never tried, so something equally as awesome.) THANK YOU!!
s'more pie (thank you pinterest)
banana cream pie (pinterest)
(I really only want to add the salted caramel not so much the chocolate..
and the picture was pretty)
PLEASE everyone, go out and eat a slice of pie today!
It's good for you!
and enjoy it for me if I don't get a chance to eat some today.
AND for fun.
Since I am LAZY and tired and DO NOT want to start my long list of Finance, Econ, and MCOM homework yet.. Here is what I've been up to lately.
(warning: It's nothing too exciting)
2 Friday's ago it was Colby's SURPRISE Birthday Party!
So I studied, went to the Party, left early to study some more, then watched a movie (Contagion).
(to get the full details, visit Talyn's blog)
Kiara |
midget Bree and Colby |
Talyn |
That Saturday after work I brought some goodies (including Martinelli's) to celebrate Taylor's internship.
We did homework, then redboxed a movie (The Double).
Sunday was filled with church, random activities (you know, that LONG list of things I need to do but never get done because homework takes over.. and since I try not to do homework on Sunday's..sometimes I get things crossed off my list), then netflix (a documentary on Wall Street Inside Job)
This past Friday Tay and I were doing homework in the library until 9 when I left for "girls night" with Talyn, Kiara, and Haley. We naturally went to Farr's (their pistachio ice cream is wonderful, along with their black licorice and salted caramel (which they didn't have this time) then did what girls do best.. TALK.
Saturday I studied in the AM, then went to work until 7, picked up some IN-N-OUT, headed to the library for more homework then... netflixed a movie (The Next Three Days).
Sunday I sadly had to do homework. So I met with my newest wedding gown client in the AM, did some homework, went to church, and did some homework.
SO basically my weekends consist of homework, work, eating, and movies.
(that is why I never post about my weekends, they are super great in person but not so fun to read about!)
AND today is bitter-sweet
I think I am wearing my favorite Sperry boots for the last time this season
BUT I am also showing my bare legs in a skirt for the first time this season
It's AMAZING how much more inspiration I get for outfits now that the weather is turning. Maybe some outfit posts will come from it. (although since I leave around 7 AM and don't get home until 10 PM there is never good light and therefore, pictures don't turn out great...and the night ones just look like I've had a sad long day.. cause I have! haha - so we'll see.)
Well.. That's all for now. Happy PI day.
(this post could also be titled... Bree wasting time.)
Back to homework.

I won't give up
Amazing song
Jason Mraz
I Won't Give Up
When I look into your eyes
It's like watching the night sky
Or a beautiful sunrise
Well there's so much they hold
And just like them old stars
I see that you've come so far
To be right where you are
How old is your soul?
I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up
And when you're needing your space
To do some navigating
I'll be here patiently waiting
To see what you find
'Cause even the stars they burn
Some even fall to the earth
We've got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it
No, I won't give up
I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily
I'm here to stay and make the difference that I can make
Our differences they do a lot to teach us how to use the tools and gifts
We got yeah we got a lot at stake
And in the end,
You're still my friend at least we didn't tend
For us to work we didn't break, we didn't burn
We had to learn, how to bend without the world caving in
I had to learn what I got, and what I'm not
And who I am
I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up
I'm still looking up
I won't give up on us
God knows I'm tough, he knows
We got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it
I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up...

quote
"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, and forget about the ones who dont. Believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. And at some point, you have to make a decision. Boundaries don't keep other people out, they fence you in. So, you can waste your life drawing lines, or you can live your life crossing them."
