FASHION'S NIGHT OUT

Well it was an amazing and inspiring day in FASHION! The one-year program and an extra select few were asked to sit in on an interview/question & answer session with the famous designer DRIES VAN NOTEN. There were only 75 people, out of the WHOLE school who were asked to come and I was one of them. He is inspirational and amazing. He is so down to earth and very private. He is from Belgium and is a HUGE deal. Look him up. He is also mighty fine and obviously dresses so nice, since he always wears his own stuff! haha he said it is so much easier to go to his store room and pick out clothes than to buy clothes other places. We got a picture taken so maybe i'll get a copy and can put it up!

I got an inspiring letter from my mom! Thank you, I love you!

Since it is literally 'Fashion's night out" (The start of Fashion week) Me and my roommate went to Bergdorf Goodman. There was a line to get in, there were famous people and designers all over the city today and in all the major stores. I saw Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf) from gossip girl. And wow she is so beautiful, I am so jealous cause she probably wears clothes from Bergdorf Goodman daily, and I can only ever dream of it.

Speaking of Bergdorf Goodman can i just tell you WOW, actually i can't tell you cause i am speechless, utterly speechless and the brilliance behind those doors. NEVER in my life have i seen more AMAZING garments. The evening gowns were to DIE FOR, I really cant even describe the feeling i get from looking at amazing hand work and designs. We're talking $10,000 and every dress was well worth it. I have never been so inspired in my whole life. I am going to make a wedding dress collection right now filled with all the ideas i saw there today. I wish you could be in my head to understand the feelings. I wish i could compare it to something you could relate to...... But nothing is as good as floor #4 at Bergdorf Goodman on 5th Avenue. It was motivational, inspiring, overwhelming, beautiful, and basically it is my form of heaven on earth. The top of the top fabrics, designs, shapes, draping, colors, ideas, designers all in on place! OH MY GOODNESS AWE-INSPIRING. I can't even describe the seams and bead work, the manipulation of fabric.... ah! My goal in life is to be able to purchase something from Bergdorf, and my other goal in life is to design clothes to be sold in Bergdorf. haha! DREAM BIG!

I tried on 2 $2000 dresses with impeccable seam work and design. Really it was amazing, I would have loved to try on about 20 of the evening gowns but I am just a poor college student and.... They were way too pretty and expensive to even try on it felt like. Although my assignment from all of my teachers has been to go to all the designer stores and look at everything, sketch and try things on. Me and my shy self will have to work our way up to that though...

All around it was a very inspiration, educational, and beautiful day here in New York City..... But it was a long one, I did all this with classes from 9am-8:20pm....... haha classes will come way too soon in the morning. Sweet dreams!
