i've never rode a train before... by the way we missed our train...... haha oops. good thing another one came soon after! no biggie, pretty intense for a bit though

Dinner was so nice, home cooked meal. PERFECT. plus my loving amazing brother saved my life by working out a way to get my favorite side dish all the way to CT. LOVE HIM, THANK YOU! cranberries, marshmallows, walnuts, whipping cream, grapes, PERFECTION. it pretty much made my thanksgiving. it helped me feel close to home! the orange rolls, pumpkin cheesecake, apple pie, turkey, potatoes, everything was amazing. I loved driving again, through the tall trees, down winding roads, I miss that. I loved not knowing the time, the destination, just going for the peaceful ride. wide open spaces. and games, i love playing games. FAMILY GAMES! (family, every night when I get home it is game night!!!!) -ticket to ride, canasta, hand and foot, scattergories, apples to apples! 3 weeks and 4 days..ish (25 days)! then i am home for 40 DAYS. PARTY it up with my good friends from home AND here. yes, break is going to be so so so so so nice. can't wait!!!

sneak peek of my final project for one of my draping classes (my 3rd semester class). Here is half of it draped. Next I transfer it to pattern and then cut fabric and sew! It is a work in progress. I had to design 15 looks with 2 of the following; cowl, princess dress, (which are what I picked), dolmen sleeve, pegged skirt, or pants. Out of all our designs our teacher picked what one we would use for our project. Our class theme is NYC architecture, which is why the dress is really structured. And the colors are grays/blacks.

Life Drawing.... Hands and skeleton (for mom) ((and yes the legs are not in proportion..... I know)) by the way, drawing a skeleton is not fun.... haha well drawing nude people every Tuesday is not fun either (I cropped the model out). ALSO if anyone lives in the city and wants to be my CLOTHED model for my final project please let me know! haha I've got to draw form life, hence LIFE drawing but honestly who wants to pose for hours while I attempt to draw you?... FOR FREE??? ya....

why I've slept 8 hours in the past 64 hours....

We had to re-develop a jacket/coat line based on a dead designer, my designer was Charles James. All the fabric was wool and cashmere all over $75 a yard, high end stuff. Like I've said I am not an expert at drawing my any means, nor am I an expert at photoshop.

This is the start of my final photoshop assignment. Our own collection. Here is my mood board and color choice.... more to come by December 17th when the whole thing is due

Here is my creative raglan jacket. I designed it, draped it, transferred it to pattern, cut new muslin, and sewed with facings. Honestly I never ever realized that I would be able to do that. I am so happy I now can successful design and make almost any jacket! very cool! Putting this in fabric will be one of my January break projects.

AND tomorrow I will post a picture of my up coming final project in my other draping class....

PS... my mom kindly informed me that there are many errors in this blog post... it was due to sleep deprivation. please don't judge! haha

RED LIGHT ON UNMARKED POLICE CAR

I knew about the red lights on unmarked police cars but not this.

It was about 1:00 in the afternoon and Lauren was driving to visit a friend. An UNMARKED police car pulled up behind her and put his lights on. Lauren's parents have always told them never to pull over for an unmarked car on the side of the road but rather to wait until they get to a gas station or someplace safe.

Lauren had actually listened to her parents advice and promptly called *77 on her cell phone to tell the police dispatcher that she would not pull over right away. She proceeded to tell the dispatcher that there was an unmarked police car with a flashing red light on his rooftop behind her. The dispatcher checked to see if there were police cars near where she was and there weren't. He told her to keep driving, remain calm and that he had back up already on the way.

Ten minutes later four marked cop cars surrounded her along with the unmarked car behind her.

One policeman went to her side and the others surrounded the car behind. They pulled the guy from the car and tackled him to the ground. The man was a convicted rapist as well as other crimes, including 'impersonating an officer'.

I never knew about the *77 cell phone feature but, especially for a woman alone in a car, you should not pull over for an unmarked car. Apparently police have to respect your right to keep going to a safe place. You obviously need to make some signals that you acknowledge them (i.e. put on your hazard lights) or call *77 like Lauren did.

Too bad the cell phone companies don't generally give you this little bit of wonderful information.

Speaking to a service representative at BellSouth Mobility confirmed that *77 is a direct link to state trooper information in all states. So, now it's your turn to let your friends know about *77

Homecoming Basketball game performance.... It went well, the crowd loved it and.....MY PANTS FELL OFF!!!!! Yes....sad story but funny. During my tumbling pass my sweats (which are too big to begin with) fell down to my knees, luckily I did have bikers on so it wasn't as bad as it could have been... haha oh man.

also..... for all of you facebook fans who have been rooting for me to get one for the past 4 years, (yes my grandparents did get one before me, and so did my baby sister)..... I finally had to conform and I officially have facebook........ I needed the dance videos, which by the way are on my facebook.... so if you would like to view either of my two FIT dances they are both there.... So now you can all start tagging me in photos. haha go facebook!!

Richard and I went to HAMLET, AMAZING!!!!!!! for only $26. Yes, we were standing but in a very good location.... aside from the fact that the wall we were standing behind was about 4'10'' so.... considering my great stature of 5'1" it was um.... rather... obnoxious to see over. haha so Richard so kindly found me a booster seat to stand on which got rudely taken away from me in the MIDDLE of the first act...... ha but it was all good, I could see without it, but just barely. AND the show was so great that it didn't even matter, I loved it. The set was gorgeous and the costuming was magnificent. Not to mention Jude Law! brilliant and beautiful! It was so so so good!

Stake conference was this weekend and it was very nice as well! A few good things i got from it... be guided by love and kindness rather than my the world. Love must be acted upon to be demonstrated, it can't just be declared. True love is a process, it must continue to be real, love takes time, love is kind. We must have credibility in our belief. Make Christ part of you, weave the atonement into your life. The church is True, there is no shame in the truth, it doesn't need to be defended, it is true. Be comfortable and confident in sharing what we believe. You don't have to convince, just simply plant the seed. You don't create the growth, the growth comes through the Holy Ghost. Standout and share.

HAHA these posters got put up one day last week and honestly made me laugh OUT LOUD. haha I love it! I think it is the greatest poster ever...

the Lord works in mysterious ways...

The Lord knows you, he knows your needs, your wants, your desires, and He does listen. This week I needed some re-assurance, some love and guidance and I found it through the workings of the Lord. Situations came up this week that were unexpected and greatly needed, little things, like opportunities to sleep (class was canceled), opportunities to serve and forget myself, opportunities to smile (thank you friends! Talyn- for trying REALLY hard to cheer me up, and for the advice, Richard- for your finger interpretation of my dance.... hahaha, and Hannah- for our door decoration night!), and opportunities for MAIL. (2 Packages; from my dear mommy and Debbie. Hot Yoga money and Ginger Cookies, BIG THANKS. and 2 letters, elder Peacock and elder Wilkins. both GREATLY unexpected and both with PERFECT timing (the Lord knows in advance the things we need and these amazing people were listening to His whispers and they acted on them. ANGELS!) So thank you for brightening my rather depressing/stressful week and helping me remember my Savior and His love for me and for all His children. Remember the Lord is in ALL things, He is in the details of our lives.

He lives to bless me with his love...He lives to bless in time of need... He Lives to comfort me when faint, He Lives to hear my souls complaint... He lives to wipe away my tears, He lives to calm my troubled heart... He lives my kind, wise, heavenly friend... Oh sweet, the joy this sentence gives, I know that my redeemer lives!

I received my calling, from CTR 6/7 primary teacher.... to........ FHE coordinator. So... if anyone has good FHE ideas please let me know! ..... I  miss my primary kids by the way, so if anyone reads this who knows any of them (Jaime Beth, Boston, Matthew, Brett, Kya, Dayna, Hunter) tell them I love them and miss being their teacher!

I saw Jacki Ford/Dowling today at church! That was exciting, her ward meets right before mine and we happened to cross paths.

of these things to do
in an emergency situation...
It never hurts to be careful
in this crazy world we live in.

1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do :
The elbow is the strongest point
on your body.
If you are close enough to use it, do!

2.. Learned this from a tourist guide.
If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse,
DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM.
Toss it away from you....
Chances are that he is more interested
in your wallet and/or purse than you,
and he will go for the wallet/purse..
RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car,
kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole
and start waving like crazy..
The driver won't see you, but everybody else will.
This has saved lives.

4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars
after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit
(doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc.
DON'T DO THIS!)
The predator will be watching you, and this
is the perfect opportunity for him to get in
on the passenger side, put a gun to your head,
and tell you where to go.
AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR ,
LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE..
If someone
is in the car
with a gun
to your head
DO NOT DRIVE OFF,
Repeat:
DO NOT DRIVE OFF!
Instead gun the engine
and speed into anything, wrecking the car.
Your Air Bag will save you.
If the person is in the back seat
they will get the worst of it .
As soon as the car crashes
bail out and run.
It is better than having them find your body
in a remote location.

5. A few notes about getting
into your car in a parking lot,
or parking garage:
A.) Be aware:
look around you,
look into your car,
at the passenger side floor ,
and in the back seat
B.) If you are parked next to a big van,
enter your car from the passenger door.
Most serial killers attack their victims
by pulling them into their vans while the women
are attempting to get into their cars.
C.) Look at the car
parked on the driver's side of your vehicle,
and the passenger side... If a male is sitting alone
in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back
into the mall, or work, and get a
guard/policeman to walk you back out.
IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)

6. ALWAYS take the elevator
instead of the stairs.
Stairwells are horrible places to be alone
and the perfect crime spot.
This is especially true at NIGHT!)

7. If the predator has a gun
and you are not under his control,
ALWAYS RUN!
The predator will only hit you (a running target)
4 in 100 times; and even then,
it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ.
RUN, Preferably in a zig -zag pattern!

8. As women, we are always trying
to be sympathetic:
STOP
It may get you raped, or killed.
Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking,
well educated man, who ALWAYS played
on the sympathies of unsuspecting women.
He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often
asked 'for help' into his vehicle or with his vehicle,
which is when he abducted
his next victim.

9. Another Safety Point:
Someone just told me that her friend heard
a crying baby on her porch the night before last,
and she called the police because it was late
and she thought it was weird.. The police told her
'Whatever you do, DO NOT
open the door...'
The lady then said that it sounded like the baby
had crawled near a window, and she was worried
that it would crawl to the street and get run over.
The policeman said, 'We already have a unit on the way,
whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.'
He told her that they think a serial killer
has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax
women out of their homes thinking that someone
dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it,
but have had several calls by women saying that
they hear baby's cries outside their doors
when they're home alone at night.

10. Water scam!
If you wake up in the middle
of the night to hear all your taps outside running or what you think is a
burst pipe, DO NOT GO OUT TO INVESTIGATE! These people turn on all your
outside taps full ball so that you will go out to investigate and
then attack.

Parent's Day was today at school.... I miss my parents. It was one of my first dance performances where my mom wasn't there. I performed this week at the FIT basketball half time, ah i miss those days of performing, that was one of the few great things about high school. DANCING! We also got to perform today, a Legally Blonde Broadway dance and our hip hop dance that we did at the half time. It was on stage, there was an audience, there was lighting, it was so good to be up there again. It was also the first time we didn't pray as a team before going on stage, I miss that.

For those of you who knew Tori Schmanski, or the story behind PRAY 4 TORI, you will be saddened to know that she passed away today, but joyful in knowing that she has made it to a better place, to our loving Heavenly Father. Please PRAY 4 TORI. pray for her family and loved ones, Tori was loved by many and will always remain in our memories and hearts. She is strong and now she is in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Seeing John Galliano in the world renown archives at FIT! Yes, we saw him, he even shared the elevator with some students in my class! AMAZING!!!!! what is also amazing is that I get to see archives here for free and designers pay high rates for memberships to look at the archives. Pretty much FIT is legit, once again. Go US! and go famous people, oh for those of you who don't know, he is a MAJOR DESIGNER who traveled from Paris just to see the new FIT museum show opening and check out our archives.

Funny stories. especially from Talyn....and most definitely when they involve boys, confusing mix signal giving boys.

When I am listening to Mormon TAB choir to get in the mood for writing my talk and having Lil' Rob come up expectantly on shuffle... ya didn't realize shuffle was on... That kind of set off my focus for a bit haha so funny.

SLEEP!!!!!!!!!!! which I am going to do right now. I am so excited! sweet dreams!

Richard and I are going to Russia for a wedding, a very rich wedding, we need beautiful gowns and tuxes to go to all the parties and receptions. We can afford anything and everything. At least that is what Sak's thinks. We went to Sak's with a convincing story (thanks to the actor Richard who happens to know Russian, go missions!) to try on dresses and tuxes. I found out that I definitely like shopping in the mens department better, they are ALOT nicer! i didn't try on too many dresses because nothing was my size. Richard tried on the most incredible Z Zegna tux, wow it was beautiful and i guess our story was legit because the tailor looked at it and started figuring out alterations. We of course didn't get it because I didn't have a dress yet and we wanted to make sure it went well together. but we got business cards! I was really surprised at how many guys were shopping and buying. I think men are buying more than women, I didn't expect that. Also there was hands down the most INCREDIBLE overcoat I have ever seen, honestly I never thought I would look at a coat and think it was the most beautiful piece of clothing EVER but this was. It was BURBERRY, which happens to be probably my favorite designer brand and AH it was amazing. $3,000 of pure perfection!!!!

I was a little bit nervous about Halloween, all the horror stories of the bloods and the crips inauguration stuff... ya SCARY. apparently there are many crimes and knifing... lucky me I was safe! Not even one somewhat sketchy story to tell. I was a flapper girl, Richard was a ninja/anime character/Edward Cullen....... haha, and Katie was a tourist (in my opinion the greatest costume of the night, love her).



We hit up the Singles Dance....... ya, not much to say about that... We were pelted with a hurricane rain storm, from every direction CRAZY! Times Square wasn't too exciting, the rain kind of ruined the celebration and parade. But 'Edward' got us in to the Hard Rock with no wait! yes! I love celebrities.
