short update..

weeks just FLY by around here.

I TA every morning then I work at Avenia during the day and usually hang out with my friends/family in the evening. I love it! But I don't have much ME time. Sometimes I wish I could just freeze time....Today is a good day though-it's my day off so I am going to enjoy the peacefulness of having no set schedule and being able to do anything I want.

a few updates:

Bain and mom are in NYC... WITHOUT ME. I am sad! I called yesterday to hear "guess where I am right now!"........ Answer-Shake Shack.. SUPER jealous. Bain competed her Outstanding Dancer solo today and I heard it went AMAZINGLY well! Bain sent me a text saying "It felt freaking unreal gurl!" haha and my mom said "Her solo was awesome and her costume is fierce" Bain will be dancing practically 24/7 until she comes home next Friday.

Katie may or may not have come into Avenia yesterday to try on wedding gowns.... and she may or may not have chosen the one that I had picked out for her since March. I know my lovely Katie SO well. SHE IS GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! times 1,000!

Tay and I are now on season 2 of Prison Break. SO good!!!! We also tested out his front porch swing on Monday when the weather was SO nice out and it was amazing-I love summer nights.

Be sure to check out Avenia's blog!!! I just posted about a bride name Haley who married her EFY crush after he returned from his mission. Cute story!

Spiritual Thought: Mosiah 4-7 (AMAZING chapters)
2: 'They had viewed themselves in their own carnal state, even less than the dust of the earth...they cried aloud with one voice, saying "O have mercy, and apply the atoning blood of Christ that we may receive forgiveness of our sins, and our hearts may be purified; for we believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of  God, who created heaven and earth, and all things; who shall come down among the children of men."' 3: '...the Spirit of the Lord came upon them, and they were filled with joy, having received a remission of their sins, and having peace of conscience because of the exceeding faith which they had in Jesus Christ.."

6: 'If you have come to a knowledge of the goodness of God, and his matchless power, and his wisdom, and his patience, and his long-suffering towards the children of men; and also, the atonement which has been prepared from the foundation of the world, that thereby salvation might come to him that should put his trust in the Lord, and should be diligent in keeping the commandments and continue in the faith even unto the end of his life, I mean the life of the mortal body...7: this is the man who receives salvation...8: neither are there any conditions whereby man can be saved except the conditions which I have told you.'

9: 'Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend. 10: ..believe that ye must repent of your sins and forsake them, and humble yourselves before God; and ask in sincerity of heart that he would forgive you; and now, if you believe all these things see that ye do them. 11:...remember, and always retain in remembrance, the greatness of God, and your own nothingness, and his goodness and long-suffering towards you, unworthy creatures, and humble yourselves even in the depths of humility , calling on the name of the Lord daily, and standing steadfastly in the faith of that which is to come... 12:..If ye do this ye shall always rejoice and be filled with the love of God and ye shall grow in the knowledge of the glory of him that created you, or in the knowledge of that which is just and true.'

20:  'He has poured out his Spirit upon you, and has caused that your hearts should be filled with joy, and has caused that your mouths should be stopped that ye could not find utterance, so exceedingly great was your joy. 21: ..if God, who has created you, on whom you are dependent for your lives and for all that ye have and are, doth grant unto you whatsoever ye ask that is right, in faith, believing that ye shall receive, O then, how ye ought to impart of the substance that ye have one to another.'

5:7 'And now, because of the covenant which ye have made ye shall be called the children of Christ, his sons and his daughters; for behold, this day he hath spiritually begotten you; for ye say that your hearts are changed through faith on his name; therefore, ye are born of him and have become his sons and his daughters. 15: I would that ye should be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works, that Christ, the Lord God Omnipotent, may seal you his, that you may be brought to heaven , that you may have everlasting salvation and eternal life, through the wisdom, and power, and justice and mercy of him who created all things, in heaven and in earth, who is God above all.'

7:33 'If ye will turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in him, and serve him with all diligence of mind, if ye do this, he will, according to his own will and pleasure, deliver you out of bondage.'

I am going to try and be better at having more spiritual thoughts on here because I think they are important and that they are a beautiful reminder of where we came from and where we should be going.

AND here is one of my FAVORITE songs paired with AMAZING choreography... it is simply stunning.

life this week

On Friday morning Katie and I just wanted to have Magleby's breakfast... that's all! BUT apparently the universe had more in mind. We wanted to try out the Magleby's in Springville (where Katie lives) but... for some ridiculious reason.. (that we didn't know beforehand) they don't serve breakfast... Luckily Provo isn't that far away.. We were finally close-Bulldog and University for those of you familiar with the area-when, at the light, Katie's car broke down. Yes. Right at the front of the line. Dead. Engine/Transmission gave out and it was not going anywhere. I was behind her in my car and we didn't know what to do. She called AAA and a cop showed up (which made things better-we looked more official so people stopped yelling and honking at us). He called another cop to come and they pushed Katie's car across the intersection into the Panda Express parking lot. Katie's mom came and let us go FINALLY get our breakfast while she waited for AAA (she is SO sweet). Magleby's through all the trouble..... YOU ARE STILL SO WORTH IT!! Raspberry and Banana filled pancakes for me, Banana and Pecan pancakes for miss Katie. What an eventful morning.

My litter sister is AMAZING. Here is a little sneak peak at her greatness. Her solo. (more videos and pictures will be posted soon)

On Saturday night Taylor wanted to do a little J.Crew post-mission shopping. He invited the expert along (me) and we did some serious damage. He looks like a freaking J.Crew model. Such a stud. I sometimes wish I was a guy because J.Crew men clothes are MY FAVORITE THING IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. They are just perfect and beautiful and.... I love them. After shopping we stopped at Dairy Keen in Heber which is the ONLY place that has Tiger Stripe ice cream (a Michigan favorite of orange sherbert and vanilla twist). We went to Zermatt to eat and finish Season ONE of Prison Break. Such a fun day. (HOPEFULLY I'll get some pictures of the newest J.Crew model soon-I'll post them if he lets me)

outfits

I've decided since I dress up every single day for work that I would document my outfits again... I wish I had been doing it the past couple weeks because I love my warmer clothes better and have more of them so once it gets really hot outside I'm worried my outfits are going to be more limited.... This time I think I will maybe document why I picked out what I did...to maybe make it more interesting. A glimpse inside my mind.

June 20th

Today I was not in the best mood and I was super tired so I tried to pick something that would make me feel pretty and that was super comfortable.

-Knit pants: J.Crew. They are like dressy sweats which is exactly my style! I love them.
-Navy Sequin Tank: J.Crew. I love navy-it may be my current favorite color-and I love sequins. My sister just bought it and since we share clothes.. I thought today would be the day for some sparkle.
-Grey and Black Cardigan: J.Crew. One of the few items I bought full price because I loved it SO much. I love the detail and it is super comfy.
-Heels: Michael Kors. One of my most FAVORITE pairs of shoes. They are pretty comfortable too.
-I had been parting my hair more in the center for the past couple months and today my hair just didn't go there, it went back to its side. I think I'll be switching it up more often and going in-between the two to make my hair a little more exciting. (It has been the same for the past... forever. The same color (I've never dyed it) and it's been long for most of my life).

June 21
Most days I wake up with an outfit in mind... today that wasn't the case. So this is what I came up with. I was going for more chill...but then I put heels on so... to me heels are everyday -casual or dressy- so I still consider this a more casual outfit (no silk, no jewelry).

-Cardigan: J.Crew. lightweight, chunky zipper, and stripes, grey and cream! GREAT combination. My sister just bought it. Perfect for summer.
-Sequin Tank: J.Crew. Knit tank with a sequin panel. So casual and comfy yet dressy and sparkly-just my style.
-Grey Minnie Pants: J.Crew. cropped and stretchy.
-Heels: Farylrobin-Kaleidoscope. LITERALLY the best and most comfortable pair of shoes I own. LOVE!

June 22
This is one of my favorite shirts-I got it YEARS ago and I still love it so much (sadly the picture does NOT do it justice... and I only took the one so I don't have other options). It was also the first day I wore jeans to work. I don't know what inspired me to wear them... I was in a hurry so I just picked something simple and quick that I knew would look good together so I wouldn't have to try a lot of things on. I had to go to work straight from Jazz so it was a hair up day.

-Shirt: Urban Outfitters. Chiffon, zip up back, and super cute. (again, it looks 100% better in person)
-Jeans: J.Crew. Confession-I haven't been able to wear these pants in over a year because I gained weight in NYC but I tried them today and they fit PERFECTLY! Finally back to my normal body!
-Shoes: J.Crew. Adorable, but not the most comfortable-they hurt the tops of my toenails after awhile.

June 23

My day off-lunch with Mommy. I was super hot because I had worked out and been to 7 peaks in the morning so I just threw on the lightest thing I could. I love dresses! So breezy.

-Dress: Gap. long enough, cute enough, light enough, comfy enough.
-Cardigan: Target. I have it in 3 colors.
-Sash: Gap. came with the dress
-Shoes: Sperry Topsiders-J.Crew. Perfection.

June 24

Work then Bain's Dance Company Showcase-got to be all dressed up to support my amazing sister! (videos and pictures will be posted of her dancing soon!)

-Shirt: J.Crew. I guess it was sequin week! LOVE this shirt, it was originally in the upper $100 price range... luckily though when I was working in NYC one in my size found it's way on to the sale rack... I think I got it for like... $30 or something-BEST DAY EVER!
-Pants: J.Crew. Pixie Pant. LOVE. Best pants. They are like thick leggins-super comfortable with full coverage.
-Shoes: Seychelles-Nordstrom. My lovely summer splurge that has proven to be the best idea I've ever had.

June 25
Work 11-5. Definitely needed something comfy (long shift plus cramps) and I opted for flats. I was sick of my outfit when I got home so I changed to go up to Park City with Taylor-we were J.Crew outlet shopping so... naturally I needed a more J.Crew outfit.

Outfit 1
-Dress: Nordstrom (i think... it is Bain's) I was sick of my dresses so I took a look through Bain's closet
-Cardigan: Banana Republic. Classic find. I needed a white pretty cardigan and... it was on sale.
-Shoes: All Black-Flower Basket. my senior prom shoes. Not the most comfortable but they are cute!

Outfit 2
-Shirt: J.Crew. stripes. grey and white. zipper up the back (not pictured). Last shirt I purchased with my employee discount.
-Skirt: J.Crew. factory. simple. grey. easy.
-Belt: J.Crew. factory. It's Bain's. I love that it is silver/grey WITH a gold buckle. It always ties in all my grey outfits with my gold jewelry.
-Necklace: Anthropologie. I LOVE this necklace. I have the same style in 2 colors.
-Shoes: J.Crew-Sperry Topsiders. Again, comfortable and perfect. If I were a shoe... this would be me.

June 26

Church. I always dress up. I haven't worn anything but heels to church for the past.... at least 2 years. I LOVE getting dressed up and if church is my excuse-I'll take it.

-Shirt: J.Crew. factory. I bought it last night. I've been looking for a light weight navy sweater (navy is my current favorite color ESPECIALLY for summer) and it was 50% off.
-Skirt: aBree Original. I made it November 2008.
-Belt: Flower Basket. skinny gold-wraps around 3 times
-Necklace: NYC street fair. I saw it and HAD to have it. turns out I got a really good deal on it. I bought it for around $30 and I saw it in a store last weekend for $85. Nice.
-Shoes: J.Crew. golden perfection. comfy too.

current project...

Bain's dance company showcase is tomorrow and she leaves for New York City Dance Alliance on Tuesday for the big national dance competition. Our project was... making her costume. We bought fabric in NYC and we finished it tonight.. JUST IN TIME. My mom designed and sewed the base of the costume and I did the detail work around the collar. I definitely get my design talent from my amazing mom! Bain was unable to model the costume tonight so that is why I am wearing it in the pictures. It turned out AWESOME!!!

and just for fun here is an...
Amazing Inspiration Board.
just my style.

what I am grateful for today..

It feels SO GOOD TO DANCE AGAIN!! (even if it only is beginning jazz-I started my TA job yesterday) AND it is amazing how much better you feel after a good run, a nice ab workout, some pull-ups and lifting weights! What a great way to start the morning. I am committing myself to this routine everyday!!! It'll be hard on days when I have work right after dance because I'll have to find time later in the day...but it makes me feel so much better and I know I just NEED TO DO IT!

all pictures from senior year-2008

I am so grateful for my body. For movement. For dancing. For working out. For muscles. For life.

exciting news

I now have a car!!!!!!!!!!

When I moved to NYC I lost my dear Land Rover and when I came back it remained in Sy's care... I've had to bum around like a jr. high kid since January. I told my dad I needed to buy a car but he never seemed too interested in helping me... so I continued to just deal with the situation. Summer is when it got rough, way to many jobs and activities to try and coordinate with Sy or my mom for rides and it was becoming impossible.

My dad came home last night with a surprise. A CAR!! A beautiful silver Mercedes. He has had his current black Mercedes for quite a few years and so he is passing it off to me. Well technically we are sharing them both-the silver one is mostly his just for mileage purposes because he drives so much for work. I am so happy and excited! My daddy is so amazing and I love him.

Our new (2006) Mercedes!

The black (2001) Mercedes!
(I didn't take a new picture of the black Mercedes because it isn't clean.. so this isn't the greatest angle (and if you look closely you can see Tay and me in the front seats haha) but it's the best I could do)

Aren't they both SO beautiful!!!!! Thanks again Daddy! I love you.

Idaho Trip

Taylor and I headed for Idaho Thursday morning and drove for 6 hours.

We got to Seth and Jenn's house a little after 4 and then left for the Tim McGraw concert around 6.

haha I was testing the settings on my camera and this happened

It was AMAZING. Seriously-Tim is so wonderful. He puts on a good show and seriously all his music is so good. I LOVED it-every single minute of it. The Band Perry and Luke Bryan opened and they were also both entertaining and super good. I sang along and dreamed of being close enough for Tim to grab my hand...... He walked into the concert on the back stairs pretty close to where we were but... not close enough. I even think Taylor (who isn't really a country listener) enjoyed the show. It was SO MUCH FUN!!! I wish I was still there-that it never ended.

Tim walking in-I WAS DYING

Tim singing with Luke

The next day we went to a cool place called Northern Lights with Seth and Jenn which mixes a movie theater with a restaurant. You order food and then sit down in the theater for the movie-we went to Rio (very cute!). Once the movie starts they bring out the food to you which you eat off of tables that are lined up in front of each row of chairs. It is a cool concept! Later in the evening we went to downtown Boise and walked around all the outdoor shops, had AMAZING pizza and frozen yogurt, and enjoyed the fresh air with each other. It is such a fun little place!!

Ninja Turtle garbage can!

Saturday Taylor and I left to come home. We stopped in Twin Falls to see the waterfalls and it was BEAUTIFUL! We got lost on the way but it was well worth it in the end.

I also got Taylor addicted to Prison Break!! We started from season 1. I LOVE PRISON BREAK.

just some GIRL time.

Today was AWESOME!!!

I got to spend the morning at Avenia surrounded by weddings (p.s. check out the new blog posts @ aveniabridal.com/blog we just posted about my FAVORITE wedding designer RIVINI-their collection is beautiful perfection)

THEN I got to see my favorite New Yorkers Emily and Katie (who I haven't seen all together for FAR TOO LONG) and it was AMAZING to catch up together and just talk for hours! Naturally we chose The Chocolate as our meeting place and enjoyed a wonderful Cazookie (from heaven).

sadly with us... we never get good pictures..

THEN I used my Pass of all Passes for the first time this summer with Talyn at 7 peaks. It was SO SO nice outside and it felt so good to just lay out in the perfect weather and just girl talk.

THEN I met up with my lovely dancers (Megan and Jen) at Cold Stone for our traditional ice cream (poor Kenzie couldn't come though... she was stuck at home with a kidney stone! so sad!!!). They didn't have my ice cream flavor (Banana) so I had to try something different and it wasn't that great. We got to hear Megan's proposal story!!! Her and Jake are so cute and super happy! I am so excited for them. Her ring was her mom's and it is so vintage and unique-SO MEGAN!

Such a WONDERFUL day!

weekend fun.

This weekend I had the opportunity to hang out with a few of my close friends who I haven't seen in a while.

Brick was in town (from St. George) so I was lucky enough to catch up with him and Gavin over dinner. We went to Roll Up Crepes (same place I went the day before with Brandon) and this time I got a sweet instead of a savory crepe. It was DELICIOUS. Brick, Gavin, and I met 6 years ago this summer!!! CRAZY. It is so nice to still keep in touch with such great people. I don't think I mentioned that Gavin is ENGAGED to be married this July. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

my yummy crepe-Banana Foster
Here is the happy couple!!! Oh love, such a beautiful thing! SO MANY WEDDINGS THIS SUMMER!!! I love it. I love when two young people can trust in the Lord and in each other enough to get married.

Sadly, we didn't take a picture of the 3 of us...

Cami (my friend since 7th grade-and the person who set up Tay and me when we were sophomores) told me on Friday that she was coming into town (she lives in Henderson- I haven't seen her in quite a few months and she hasn't seen Taylor in over 2 years). We planned to meet up Saturday night and go on a double date (Tay and me, Cami and her husband Shawn). We went to GOODWOOD for Dinner. Oh I love food! I had Prime Rib with yummy sweet potatoes and some of a brownie sundae for dessert.

After dinner we went to the Orem Summerfest. We rode a really fun ride that all 4 of us could go on together. It spun around a lot and it was surprisingly awesome-the wait was like 45 minutes so I was happy it was at least worth it. We then watched the fireworks. They actually put on a pretty amazing show! The fun part was that they were so close they felt like they could almost fall on you.

It was so nice to catch up with my old friends. I love when opportunities like these come along!

a few thank-you notes

Thanks to my favorite person in the world, Taylor, I am seeing Tim McGraw next weekend!!!! I am SO HAPPY! He agreed to come with me and then Seth and Jenn decided to go as well. It is going to be SO MUCH FUN I can hardly handle it. YAY! Thank you Tay Tay.

I got to lay out for the first time this season at Riverside Country Club with Bain. I don't think I got ANY color... but it was SO nice. Thank you sun-for feeling so good. and Bain. and RCC chicken fingers-fries-ice cream.

Taylor's sweet mom Debbie took us out to dinner last night at Carrabba's. It was delicious as always. After eating at the new crepe place in Orem (Roll Up Crepes) for lunch and having some of Bain's RCC food I should have opted for the "healthier" choice- Chicken Marsala (which is incredible) but instead.... like always, the cheese filled stuffed pasta always wins and it didn't disappoint. Chicken and Spinach Cannelloni. SO yummy! We ended the night with dessert. Limoncello Bread Pudding!!! Heavenly. Absolutely delicious. Thank you again Debbie, everything was wonderful.

Tim McGraw

..is coming to concert this August but... our family MAY be on vacation. Therefore, I cannot go. This makes me terribly sad..

I then saw they he is coming to Idaho June 16th and since that is where my brother and sister-in-law live I thought maybe I could see him there (he has kind of been one of my most favorite singers MY WHOLE LIFE and I've never seen him). The tickets are a decent price, my dad's car gets pretty good gas milage, I have a place to stay, I could see Timmy, maybe go to the Boise temple, eat some Mexican with mi hermanos I just have one problem....

I don't know who will come with me....
Dilemma.

Tim McGraw, I love you. I'm trying to make it!!!! PLEASE let me find someone to go on this once in a lifetime road trip with me!!! It will be SO worth it!

simple beauties.

Life is good. I love Sunday's. Especially Sunday's when it is warm and beautiful outside. It was an eventful weekend and today has been relaxing and a wonderful day of catching up and remembering how blessed I am. How grateful I am for my life and all that I have.

It was a special day for Sy and my Dad. They were each ordained in the priesthood-Sy to Elder, Dad to High Priest. Congratulations! It was a beautiful event, I am so grateful I have such amazing men to look up to in my life.
Uncle LeGrand, Uncle Gary, Dad, Uncle Larry, Sy, Brother Wooley, Seth

Sy and I went to the single's ward for sacrament meeting and it was VERY good. I saw some old friends which was nice and then we went to the sacrament meeting at our family ward as well. Again, very good! Granny&Grandpa and Seth&Jenn had to leave today and the rest of us are all napping and enjoying the beginnings of summer!

What I learned in church today was to be grateful for the small and simple things. I wish you all could have been in my head today because I can't express how wonderful each and every second of church was. It was full of love and thanksgiving. Of gratitude to our Savior who died so we can live. Be grateful for the plants, for the mailmen, for the garbage truck, for drinkable water, for ownership of property, for security, for the laws, for rain, for beds, for light, for cameras, for the internet, for endless food, for income, for every small thing that makes life possible. It was all given by Heavenly Father. Realize the literal miracle of bodies, of personalities, of movement, of thought, of words, of growth. Realize the blessings and miracles that surround us all that we take for granted. Life IS precious. It is pure and was created perfectly. Recognize the beauty that resonates in people and in nature. THAT is the love of Christ. That is what this world is all about. Life is a gift.

How Great Thou Art
We sang this hymn in my singles ward and you know it's a good one when your 18 year old brother sings along (I was shocked-I honestly didn't even know what his voice sounded like, I have NEVER heard him sing) and when Carrie Underwood belts it out so graciously. It's a tear jerk-er. Enjoy. SO beautiful. There are two versions-both equally amazing. The first one has less verses but SO SO SO much emotion. The second is the full song, with all the perfect lyrics.

SUMMER fun.

This summer is going to be a BLAST.

I just got my SECOND job
and I am working on getting a THIRD as well

Although my days will be filled with a lot of working
I will hardly consider it work because I know I'll love every minute of it and I'll enjoy my free time
laying at the Riverside Country Club pool with Bain, using my Pass of all Passes with Taylor, Talyn, Katie and Daren, catching Tay up on movies that he has missed,
doing a little hiking, attending institute and the temple, reading, going to lovely summer weddings,
sewing some beautiful clothing,
eating some great summer food, attending some concerts, stalking and wearing j.crew, documenting my life through scrapbooks, relaxing with my family and friends.

This summer is going to be the best one yet.
All my friends are home, I am home, and we have a couple of great family vacations planned (Lake Powell and California)
I can just tell that it is going to be awesome.

Now, about the second job.
I am the newest BYU employee!
I was asked to be the Teacher's Assistant (TA) for the beginning Jazz class this Summer semester.
I will continue to TA intermediate in the Fall
and advance in the Winter.
next Spring I will be able to start teaching Jazz at BYU.

I am very excited.
and so blessed.
Bring on the good times! Summer 2011.

Grad/Summer Family and Friend BBQ

Saturday night we had a big BBQ for relatives and friends. It was SO much fun! Amazing food and amazing company. Let's just say when you pair Leslee, Carol Lynn, Talyn, Jenn, and Granny together it makes for hilarious conversations and a very entertaining evening! I love my family and friends!!

J.Dawgs.

Jenn made these ADORABLE graduation cupcakes

on the grill
Sy's Friends

Katie, Seth&Jenn, and Bain's Friends

Cute Sy and Granny

Daddy's siblings (4 of 6) LeGrand, Kate, Carol, and Ann

Tay Tay and Me

My mom attacked Sy with silly string

One entertainment example...
Granny was talking with Talyn and she was telling her how beautiful she was, and smart too! Talyn said "just wait until I have my glasses on, then I'll even look smart." (or something along those lines) Granny replied while shaking her hips, "Ya, you look like a hooker!"..... hahahahahahaha WHAT??? Seriously. My granny is awesome. Talyn, Taylor, and I literally all fell on the floor hysterically laughing. Apparently hookers are smart and pretty? I don't even really understand where it came from but I am SO happy because it MADE THE NIGHT! I realize that this story is a MAJOR inside joke and that you really have to know my Granny and Talyn to make it make sense but... it was hands down the best moment ever. It needed documentation! I wish I could make it as funny to everyone as it really was because everyone deserves to laugh hard core on the floor sometimes. Naturally the topic reoccurred a few times during the rest of the evening as well. Such a good night!

haha after the incident. Tay, me, and Tal

We taught the newbies how to play nickle nickle and sure enough they are the ones who win the game. Taylor came in first, Granny got second (I will say though that this game is pure luck because I was playing for granny and her cards landed her in 2nd whereas mine landed me in second to last place haha). Ending the night with a card game was perfect. I love game night! Especially when it involves so many of my favorite people!
